Beliefs

Doctrinal Statement

The Scriptures

We believe that the Scriptures; all sixty-six books of the Bible, in the original autographs, were the inspired Word of God. They were plenary, verbal, authoritative, and are inerrant. The Bible is the sole authority for faith and practice in all matters to which it speaks.

The God Head

We believe God is infinite, perfect, simple, and holy. The Godhead exists eternally in three persons—a Triune God— as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All are God; all possess equally all the same attributes, nature, perfections, and characteristics of personality.

However God, the Holy Spirit is not God the Son or God the Father. God the Son is not God the Father or God the Holy Spirit. God the Father is not God the Son or God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the full deity of Jesus Christ who existed eternally as God. Jesus did not cease to be God at His incarnation; He set aside the glory of deity and took on a human nature. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. Thus He possesses both a divine and a human nature, both distinct and unmixed.

In his life on earth Jesus lived a life without sin—sinless. He was tried unlawfully, beaten, and crucified taking the punishment for the sins of all men through all time. This was a necessary condition for salvation. Nevertheless salvation is not universal. The sufficient condition for Jesus atoning sacrifice is a person’s trusting in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Jesus bodily arose from the tomb after the third day. He ascended to heaven and took on His glorified body and now sits at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us as our High Priest.

Jesus’ Return

We believe that Christ will return in the clouds to take His Church to Himself; both the living and the dead. This event is both imminent and pre-Tribulation; the Blessed Hope of the Church.

The Tribulation

After the Confessing Church is removed, the Tribulation of Daniel’s Seventieth Week will occur for a period of seven years. The Man of Lawlessness with the False Prophet and his professing church will rule. Then will come the Day of the Lord. A time of judgment of the nations who reject God.

The Second Coming

Jesus Christ will return bodily and visibly to the earth with his saints after the Tribulation with glory and great power.

He will judge both living and dead, not written in the Book of Life and they will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit. He is the infallible inspiration and the Bible. The Holy Spirit also calls convicts, regenerates, and indwells the lost.

He also convicts, empowers, instructs, and guides the believer in living, service, and worship. The Holy Spirit bestows spiritual gifting on Christ’s disciples. His chief purpose is to witness and glorify Christ and to fill the believer daily as prayerfully requested.

The Dispensations

We believe that the dispensations are chronological, successive stewardships by which God administers His purpose on earth through man by progressive revelation.

Angels

We believe that a great company of angels kept their holy estate and are ministering spirits of God for the carrying out of His purpose and to protect the saints when so ordered.

Satan

We believe that Satan is a created being with all the characteristics of personality. He was to be the highest in rank among the angels. But he chose to rebel against God and was thrown down, along with his followers. He is, in this milieu, ruler of this world as God allows.

He is the arch-enemy of God, the people of God, and tempter and great deceiver of humanity.

Demons

We believe that a great company of angels rebelled with Satan. They are now the demons active as Satan’s agents in the carrying out his unholy purposes. Some are bound until they are released in the fullness of time.

Man

Creation & Fall

We believe that man was created in the image of God; “male and female He created them. The woman and man fell into pride and sinned bringing on death—both spiritual and corporeal. Humans are now born dead in their trespasses and sin. This fallen nature is transmitted to every descendent of Adam in the form of original sin.

Death

We believe that at physical death, the believer immediately goes into the presence of God in full conscious fellowship with the Lord, awaiting the resurrection of the body; that the unbeliever enters immediately into eternal conscious separation from God in Hell, awaiting the resurrection of the body for final judgment.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is wholly a work of God’s free grace and not the work of man in whole or in part. Only those who have been effectually and irresistibly called by the Holy Spirit put their trust in Jesus. The Holy Spirit opens the eyes of the Elect to accept Christ’s free gift. It is not by man’s goodness, works, or religious ceremony.

It is a gift received by personal faith at which time the righteousness of Christ is imputed to the sinner justifying him in the Father’s sight.

We believe that all true believers are eternally secure forever.

The Church

We believe that the Church is the body and Bride of Christ; that it is composed of all those who are true disciples of Jesus and follow Him as Lord and Savior.

Believers are also commanded not to forsake assembling together for a time of corporate worship, praise, and teaching from the Holy Scriptures.

The Ordinances

An ordinance is a practice that is commanded by Christ. The first is the ordinance of Communion or Lord’s Supper, Christ commanded His disciples to “do this in remembrance of Me.”

The second is Baptism. All believers should be baptized as a public sign of their love and obedience to Jesus Christ. John the Baptist baptized believers and Jesus was baptized as a sign that His ministry had begun. Nevertheless baptism is in no way salvific for anyone.

Marriage

Marriage is strictly between one man and one woman and is a holy bond and covenant made between a man and a woman with God. No marriage between two people of the same sex or a transsexual is worthy or recognize in the sight of God; even if accepted by the State.

The Millennial Kingdom

We believe in a literal one-thousand year reign of Christ on earth on the throne of David. The Church will co-reign with Christ. Satan will be bound in the abyss for one thousand years.
